Talking about health and fitness is not something that I really do. Like. Ever. The only reason why, is because I don’t know enough to talk about it and I don’t really look after myself well enough. But times are changing.
I need to make a change with what I eat and I have started to focus more on what snacks I take to work or what I have in the “treat drawer” in the kitchen. Chocolate is a big weakness of mine, crisps are temping but it is all the other junk food that tempts me to be bad.
The adjustments have begun, and it started with my lunch box. Usually I would just take my purse and go on the hunt for something tasty for my lunch but now, I have bought a lunchbox that has lots of different sections so I can have a variety of snacks along with my sandwich or salad.
Lately I have been obsessed with popcorn. I don’t know why I wrote the word “lately”, I have always been obsessed with popcorn. I always went for sweet - never salt – but now there is salt ‘n’ sweet, the game has changed. All supermarkets carry a good range of popcorn. My current favourite is SkinnyPop Popcorn – no artificial ingredients, gluten free and tasty. What I love about popcorn is that it is really light yet filling. So where I would normally sit with a large bag of crisps and happily nibble my way through the bag, I don’t get that bottomless feeling with popcorn – so I eat less, which is the aim. Now, I know I said that I would never have salted popcorn, but the SkinnyPop Sea Salt flavour is Ah-maze-ing – see what I did there? – but, I still grab a bag of the Sweet & Salty too.
Speaking of salt ‘n’ sweet, one of my favourite treats is chocolate dipped salted pretzels – something I haven’t had in a long time. I have had chocolate dipped popcorn before and that was amazing too. At parties I try to have a good range of snacks available for my guests to nibble on, crisps and dips are a classic option, but popcorn is one of the first things to be demolished.
Even when I am at home with E and we are binge watching a series on Netflix, we like to share a bag of popcorn. Obviously I tend to eat majority of the popcorn because I just can’t get enough and E can’t move quick enough. He prefers the Sweet & Salty flavour too, but I did notice that in the States there are other flavours available:
So if you are lucky enough to spot and of these flavours, send a box to me.
