When it comes to manicures, I love sitting in that chair and getting my nails pampered. I find it instantly relaxing. Who doesn’t? The only bit about going to a nail salon that stresses me out, is choosing the colour and style. What happens if it isn't the right shade of pink? You are stuck with Dusky Pink instead of Dusty Pink until the next month when you can afford to get them done again. Trust me. I should now. It happened to me about four months ago.
Now. I am aware that this isn’t a big issue to some, but I am a control freak and I do get really anxious when things don’t go quite as planned. I started to get my nails done on a monthly basis as a wee treat, and I loved it. I would spend what seemed like days on Pinterest and Instagram, looking for the perfect manicure design to use for inspiration - or just to completely rip-off.
The only thing I didn’t love about getting my nails done - apart from picking the colour - is the fact that I can’t change up my nail colour as much as I would want to. I love painting my nails myself. I have dozens of bottles of nail polish, majority have probably gone off now, but I do have a core of favourites. Black is my Number 1 colour, followed quickly by white and a good red - a deep red. I do love orange and a nice grey, but I rarely choose those. I was lucky enough to try out some new nail products though, and I am so happy.
KISS products have an amazing range of false nails - gel nails, acrylic nails, french manicure and even fantasy styles. So there is plenty of choices for everyone. The thing that I have found so far about these KISS nails is that they are so easy to apply.
Just like any other pack of false nail you can buy from a beauty department, they come with a full range of sizes - usually 14 different pairs - so you can find you perfect fit for your fingernail, and they come with a handy wee tube of nail glue. What I love about the KISS nails which is slightly different to other brands, is that they provide sticky tabs for our nails.
At first I was slightly confused as to what purpose they served, but then I thought that the sticky tabs would be the prefect substitute if you wanted to wear them for just one occasion. So you would just measure up the perfect fit, stick on the sticky tab, push it down and off you pop to dance the night away. Then in the morning, you just need to gently flick off any remaining nails that you have managed to come home with. Perfect.
What I opted to do is, I used the sticky tabs to apply the nails to see how they felt for a couple of hours around the house. If they felt comfortable enough, then I would just remove the sticky tab and add the glue for more of a permanent nail. This was the right thing to do, as I found that my middle and index nails, along with my thumb, felt really big and awkward. So I just took my time and remeasured. Now, I have a full set of false nails in this beautiful red chilli colour that look and feel natural to me, and that’s what I wanted.
Now, I have a few other styles of naills to try out from KISS and imPRESS. I even have a set laid aside ready for the week of Halloween - my favourite time of year. So far these press on nails have really impressed me - see what I did there?
