This week I celebrated my Birthday the only way I know how. With good food, tasty cocktails and shopping in one of my favourite cities – Glasgow.
The Bier Halle is the place to go if you love Beer and Pizza. They have a wide range of bottled beers from around the Globe and a great selection of cocktails if you are after something sweet. For their pizza, they always have 2-4-1 on their pizzas – perfect if there are a few of you going for dinner. Their selection of pizza toppings is incredible too, from Tandoori chicken to the classic Hawaiian which is my personal favourite. We ordered a portion of fries on the side and E got a free hotdog because he ordered a Stein of beer. So it is safe to say that we ordered far too much food.
On Wednesday, it was my birthday, so I wanted to celebrate it by going round a few of the cities Galleries and having a cupcake (or two). The Lighthouse gallery had a fantastic collection from PUTPUT, a Swiss/Danish artist dup based in Copenhagen whose main influence is “…the metaphysical relationship between objects and people.” The pieces were laid out in the public space of The Lighthouse, so the collection was scattered throughout the building in the walkways, on the floor resting against the walls. It was fantastic. That night we went out for a burger and then we went on to drink a few too many shots. It was such a lovely day.
The last day of our trip was spent browsing round our favourite stores, which ended in me purchasing some new make up from Charlotte Tilbury which I have had my eye on for a while – more on that soon, so stay tuned.
I had such a lovely trip away for my birthday and I am so lucky to have a partner who puts up with me dragging him around all the Beauty counters in every department store. For that, I am grateful.
How do you like to celebrate your B-Day?
