Aaaaaand it’s over. All the Halloween decorations have been taken down, the face paints have been boxed up and all the candy that wasn’t collected by Guizers (“trick or treaters”) has been gathered and is slowly being consumed by E and myself.
October is my favourite month, as I love Halloween. Not only is it the one day of the year where you can disguise yourself as someone – or something – else but it also marks my Anniversary with E. So it is an amazing day for us. Also it is an excuse to have far too much candy in the house.
Here is an update on my goals for October. No. 1 Halloween – What can I say? It is my favourite holiday. I love everything about it and this year I am throwing a Halloween party and I cannot wait to decorate the house and bake delicious treats. I have even thought of evil things to make to trick the guests! We decorated every room of the house for our Halloween party. The stairwell was covered in crime scene tape and balloons and then the hallway was black with tombstones and candles leading you to the living room. Big black nets hung from the ceiling and there were many ghosts hanging about. The kitchen was set up like someone was planning a murder. Newspaper on the floor, Polythene hung round the room to cover the space and there was a chair with an axe just sitting in the middle of the room. The BEST room though, was definitely the bathroom. The light bulb was switched with a red bulb and a strobe light sat in the bathtub, shining on to a blood soaked shower curtain. There were chains hanging from the ceiling along with blood soaked weapons and limbs. It was interesting taking showers in there! When you closed the door, there were creepy sounds playing through a speaker. A tap dripping, children singing and screams – definitely in the right place just in case you were to shit yourself. No. 2 Future – I have been thinking more and more about what I want to do in the future. I have been thinking about looking in to secondary school teaching. I just love the idea of helping kids. So I have been looking more in to taking the course that will give me the PGDE to do it. So that is exciting. I have started a new job with a Cosmetics company and I love it. It is so nice to play around with make up every day and talk to customers about products that I genuinely love and have a passion for. The blog has taken a little break just so I can concentrate on the new job a little, but now I should be able to plan in my posts a little bit more. I can’t wait to do more posts on products from the company I work for. No. 3 Time Out – Toward the end of September, I wasn’t feeling like myself and took some time out and headed back home for a while. This month I am going to try and focus more on my health and myself and hopefully I will feel more like myself soon. Going back home was the best thing. It was definitely what I needed. I am feeling so much happier with my life and myself. The new job helps a lot, and making time for my friends and family too. My birthday is coming up, so it is time to concentrate and plan that too – so that should be really fun.
