I have fallen in love. Call it a girl crush if you want, but I know that this is has turned in to an unhealthy obsession. Creating inspiration boards is something I love to do. When your style inspiration comes from this amazing woman, then you know your wardrobe needs to step it up a notch.
Leandra Medine - creator of Man Repeller, "a humourous website for serious fashion" - to me, has the best street style out there.
When it comes to layering her looks, she knows how to wear it perfectly. Masculine boyfriend coats draped over your shoulders breaks up bold prints and bright colours. Speaking of bright colours, I love how Leandra has taken a grey top and grey socks and missed them with a blood orange printed skirt and matching lipstick. This really makes a look that would be dull, really pop. My favourite look from the four selected above has to be the wide leg trousers that are paired with the strapless bodice. By wearing a long sleeve sweater underneath, you can easily transition this typically Spring/Summer look into Autumn/Winter.
Speaking of wide legged trousers; that is one style that I never wear. This is a certain style that I have never really tried. I know how I would style this particular look - similar to Leandra above - I have just avoided this silhouette because I think I would make me feel bigger. Analysing Leandras styling of this look makes me realise, that maybe if I were to get a pair of wide legged trousers that are cut slightly above the ankle, then it wouldn't make me feel dumpy. This is something that I need to investigate more.
Now. I am a sucker for a good white Tee or shirt. Heck, I have been wrote about it here. I just love talking about how a simple, crime white shirt can really transform your look. Leandra has tucked both of her shirts in to her trousers, instantly changing the silhouette of her look - giving more structure. Also, by wearing an interesting pair of heels with a basic white shirt and a good pair of jeans can take your casual style to street style.
My personal style - I don't think I can put a label on it. It changes every day. I take different trends and somehow make it work for myself. I do get stuck occasionally with how I should wear something, but that it when I turn to my Pinterest boards for inspiration and my latest style crush has given me so much inspiration for my wardrobe. Thank you Leandra!
