This Fall '17 collection from Nina Ricci is ready to gallop in to the sunset.
There is definitely an influence from Westerner - from the silk fringing and the yolk seams, even the metal tipped collars. This collection screams Rodeo Chic.
If the House of Nina Ricci were trying to be subtle about this cowboy influence, then they didn’t do a good job - but that is not a bad thing. This French fashion house has taken something that can look over the top and dated and mixed it with perfect accessories for a chic look.
Speaking of chic, this collection breaks one of those fashion rules that should always be broken - in my opinion. Mixing black and navy together. The different textures of velvet, lace and silk make the different tones really stand out from the dark looks.
Lace gloves and stockings mixed with saddle bags and structured tailoring brings a feminine touch to something that has always been portrayed as masculine.
The last look is uber feminine, magenta sequin skirt with dusty pink lace stocking and heels mixed with baby pink lace blouse and the most beautiful blush pink coat.
Coats are always my favourite piece in any show, especially one that has been created by Guillaume Henry who came from the house of Carven - who create the most amazing coats - to become the Creative Director at Nina Ricci.
