The time has come to shake the dust off my boots, take my winter coats out of storage and pull on some tights. Autumn is here.
Autumn is my favourite Season. If you prefer the hot Summer sun, then that's great. But I live in the North East of Scotland and the only time we see the hot Summer sun is for a long weekend in March and two weeks in August. If you are Scottish and you laughed at that statement, then you know it is true.
Autumn is a time for snuggling up with a cosy jumper and a mug of hot cocoa; a time for getting dressed up as something from a nightmare; carving a pumpkin and eating far too much candy. But hey. It's cool. I have a dentist. The best bit about Autumn is the beauty aspect. I love rich shades of purple, dark shades of red and different tones that are slightly gothic. My eyeliner tends to get a bit thicker and my cheeks get a bit rosier. I just love Autumn. In the photo above is a few of my favourite shades of lipstick and nail polish that remind me of Autumn. So I am starting to store away my bright Spring/Summer shades and dig out the lipsticks that will no doubt, stain my lips. But hey. It's cool. I have concealer. Next on my Autumn preparation list is to hunt down some comfortable (and trendy) boots, thick cosy cardigans and super warm tights. The last (and probably most important) thing to do to prepare for Autumn vast approach is skincare. This is a biggie. When the weather changes, my skin dries up and can get quite sore. To try and avoid the horrible dry patches I will be relying heavily on Liz Earle to keep my skin under control. I have wrote about the miracle that is Liz Earle before in this post. Well worth the read if you suffer with Eczema or acne.
How do you prepare for Autumn?
