When it comes to shampooing and conditioning my hair, I have always had to be a little bit picky with what I would use on my scalp.
Occasionally, I get flare ups of red, dry and itchy patches along my hairline and back of my scalp - I know, riveting stuff - so I need to be extra careful with what products I choose to use. My hair is really thick and grows at an incredible rate so I always looks for one that will strengthen and repair my hair, along with soften and smooth. Is that too much to ask for? Well, perhaps. I struggled for a while to find something suitable that ticked all my boxes and I think I have finally found the one.
Whilst browsing the aisles in my local Boots, I was really interested in the Garner Ultimate Blends range. If I am honest, it is because it was on a 3for2 offer and I was broke. So yeah, I wanted to try it out. I sniffed every kind of Garner Ultimate Blends and I fell in love with the Honey range. I grabbed the shampoo, conditioner and the tub of Honey Strengthening Hair Mask - who doesn’t love a hair mask? They also have a Hair Serum that I was tempted to purchase, but I already have several bottles of hair serums and oils at home, so I thought it was wise to use up those bad boys first.
From the first wash, you feel the difference and you can see the difference too when your hair is dry. The shampoo doesn’t feel thick or heavy and it washes out with ease, leaving the hair feeling clean and refreshed. The conditioner feels incredible when you gently blend it in to you hair and the scent is just heavenly - I bloody love honey. I always shampoo my scalp and roots thoroughly and make sure I was it all out before applying the conditioner. I only condition the ends of my hair and then take the conditioner up towards my roots, but I never condition my roots and scalp.
When I was younger, I use to shampoo all my hair and scalp and the same with conditioner. But then I realised that, because I was applying so much product, I wasn’t washing it all out and my hair felt horrible and always sat flat because of the excess product. So that is why I changed the way I apply shampoo and conditioner.
When it comes to treating my hair, the hair mask is so good that it is always good to stock up because for some reason my local Boots only display 2 tubs at a time, so I tend to clear the shelf every time I need to restock. I use this as a treatment about 2 times a week. I smother my hair in it after I wash out my conditioner and I leave it on for as long as possible. My hair has never looked so beautiful and it feels so soft and smooth. Also, the scent is absolutely beautiful. I just love it. You can purchase the tub (300ml) or buy little sachets (20ml) that is perfect for travelling. I tend to grab a few of those too, because I hate travelling with large bottles of potions and lotions.
I just adore this rage as it strengthens, restores and nourishes damaged hair prone to breakage so it is perfect for all my needs. It smells incredible and my hair looks smooth, shiny and healthy. Also, when I use the Garner Ultimate Blends Hair Mask the blonde in my hair looks brighter and more golden, so I always get compliments like “Have you had your hair done? It looks amazing!” and my reply tends to be “No. I just washed it.”
