MY HAIR PRODUCTS

When it comes to finding great hair products, there is so many out there.
When it comes to my hair, I obviously want to use products that make my hair smooth and shiny but I have to be so careful about what I use on my scalp.

I tend to react easily to certain shampoos or conditioners. My scalp becomes red, itchy and rather flaky. Actually. It is worse than that. Sometimes it can be so bad that I can't even brush my hair without being in some sort of pain. That issue has now been resolved since I started using Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo (£6.39 from Boots). It is almost like Head&Shoulders on steroids.

You don't need a lot of it and you don't use it that often. When my scalp is really bad I gently lather the Nizoral shampoo through my roots and leave it to sit on my scalp for as long as possible. I rinse it off and if I need to condition my hair then I just condition my tips. Every 3 days I will use this shampoo and when my scalp has been clear for a couple of weeks, then I go back to my normal shampoo and reach for the Nizoral just once in a while.

If my scalp is behaving itself I tend to use the Vo5 Volume Boost Gel Spray (£4.50 from Boots) to give my hair a bit of oomph. My hair is naturally thick but it can loose the natural bounce quickly because of the weight. When I blow dry my hair the volume is definitely noticeable. I tend to apply this product after I have towel dried it as much as possible.

If my hair needs to be blow dried or straightened then I always use a product with heat protection and then use an oil. If I let my hair naturally dry I still use a hair oil as it keeps my hair looking smooth and it feels incredible. My go-to hair oil is by L'Oréal Paris and I just can't get enough of this Elvive Extraordinary Oil (£9.99 from Boots). Since getting blonde balayage in my hair I need to pay a little more attention to the ends of my hair, so this product rescues it for me.

When styling my hair I can either be totally laid back and just let it do what it wants OR I can be really fussy and I have to get it looking right. If I feel like it needs a bit of product to tame my hair then the Wonder Balm from Percy & Reed (£18) does the job. This balm warms up easily in my palms and smooths on my hair like a dream. Any fly away hairs are put firmly in their place and they are not too tempted to move. If my hair is being stubborn and is pissing me off then I grab my Freeze Hold spray from Tressemé and just go to town on it. Then I definitely know it will not move.

It is very rare that I use hairspray but when I do, then the Tressemé Freeze Hold Salon Hairspray is a firm favourite. I have been using this since I was a teenager. My mum, would constantly buy it because it was amazing and she couldn't work out why she was using so much of it. The truth is. It was me. I was constantly using the stuff to keep my big ego fringe in place. This stuff works a dream.

I can confirm that Nizoral not once, not twice helped my skin but... After a while I can see that the condition of my scalp was only acceptable after the use of Nizoral. Currently I am trying to find a different way to help my skin. Much love, Iga www.igaberry.com

It is amazing! Isn't it. I have just had another bad scalp and it has rescued it in just two washes. I love it! Try T-Gel shampoo if you are looking for something else, Iga.
