Let's Be Honest...
This is not the easiest liner to use. L'Oréal have created this Smokissime Super Liner to help you achieve the perfect smoked eye. When I first saw the advert for this product, I knew I had to try it. I love a smoked eye and finding make up (or tools) that will make the job easier is just perfect.
When I opened the tube, I was surprised that it was a sponge applicator - but then I realised that sponges actually give a fantastic smoked effect. I applied primer to my upper eyelid - a gel, not the paint pot primer that I usually use because I didn't want to ruin the sponge. I found the sponge awkward and the shape of it made it difficult to apply the product evenly. It smudged - but not in the way that it ideal to create a smoked eye. The first attempt was a disaster and I did not like the L'Oréal Liner so it took me a couple of weeks to give it another shot.
With a bit more patience - and the help from some Q-tips - I managed to achieve a more even application of the liner. It doesn't have the staying power that I would love it to have. I find that it rubs off easy, so I make sure that I use a primer every time I want to use it and it lasts a lot longer.
Another good tip is, apply your eye make up BEFORE you apply concealer/foundation because you need to clean up any of the black residue that lands on your cheeks. I am not 100% sure of how the make up tops up on the sponge, but I think that when the lid is twisted back on, it pushes the sponge down and the black liner pushes itself through the sponge. If anyone really knows how this works, then I would love to know.
Have you tried the 'Super Liner'?
