Stiff upper lip...
For years I have had a slight paranoia about my upper lip hair. It is mostly blonde but the patches of soft hair at the corners of my mouth always looked a little darker. It wasn't that noticeable (well, I hope it wasn't) but because I knew it was there, I couldn't stop looking at it. Any time that I have tried to take a close up photo of a new lipstick I always have to edit it in Photoshop after to try and hide my lips hair.
When I was a teenager my sister (sorry Samantha) shaved her top lip. I was evil and I couldn't stop laughing and I remember my mum having an argument with her about her stupidity. My mum used to get her top lip waxed and it always looked nice a clean, but I didn't like the way it looked when it started to grow back - plus I had an image of a top lip with stubble. So I decided to do nothing about my top lip hair... until now.
I went into Boots and browsed their large range of hair removal/bleaching products and settled on this Boots Smooth Care Hair Lightener. I was nervous about trying it out, asking myself Will it burn? Will it work? Will it make it worse? But then I took the plunge and applied it.
I first cleaned an area of my wrist to do a test patch on the hair there, after about 6 minutes I removed it and I was pleasantly happy with the appearance. I mixed equal amounts of the Hair Lightener and the Accelerator Cream into the little tub (that is provided in the box), mixing it together with the spatular (which is also provided). I cleaned my top lip with cold water and a cleanser - the box suggests soap, but I never apply soap to my face. I applied the cream across my top lip but I applied a little more to the corners of my mouth. I left the cream on my lip for 10 minutes and I emoted it with the spatular then cleaned my lip with warm water to remove any cream that I might of missed.
I was so happy with the result but I regret that I didn't try this sooner.
What are you a fan of? Wax, Bleach or Cream Removal?
