Throughout my life, I have always been the kind of person that would stress out if I think I am going to be late for any kind of appointment or event. On some occasions, this level of stress has developed in to a panic attack. This may seem a bit extreme, but I know that I am not the only one. It doesn’t help the fact that I seem to loose track of time when I am getting ready.
I usually like to give myself over an hour in the morning to get myself ready for the day ahead. I really enjoy catching up with Social Media whilst sipping my tea before I even think about getting dressed. The time I give myself in the mornings is important. But then I end up running around last minute, grabbing everything because I still think I “have enough time”. Whereas, the mornings when I only have 20-30minutes I seem to pull myself together quickly and I look like I have thought out my look for the day. My make up can be done in around 5 minutes on days like this – on other days I like to take about 15-20minutes to do my face.
So here is how I achieve my 5minute make up look:
Primer – Do not skip this step. It only takes a few seconds to apply and whilst your skin absorbs it, you have time to do your eyes.
Foundation & Concealer – I love to use a beauty blender to apply both and I find it is the quickest way to apply the liquid foundation and concealer. Just give yourself 5 extra seconds to blend it in perfectly.
Winged Eyeliner – I like to think that I am a Pro when it comes to applying a thick wing of liquid eyeliner because I have been doing it since I was 14. The only way that I can achieve this look quickly is by using the Collection 2000 eyeliner that I have always used. It is quick to dry, easy to apply and it lasts all day. Read more about it [here].
Brows – I quickly fill in the gaps of my eyebrows with a medium brown eyebrow pencil and then I quickly brush the hairs in the opposite direction using a brow gel. This gives the brow a fuller look and it also allows time for the eyeliner to finish drying.
Mascara – Do I need to say anything here? No. Moving on.
Blusher – Brush it on. Blend it out. Done.
If I do have a few more minutes, I will apply some bronzer to my cheeks and my forehead. But if I am attempting any sort of contouring, then I always make sure I give myself plenty of time to do this. As I have made so many mistakes with bronzer when I am in a rush. No woman wants the paranoia I had when I thought it looked like I had a 5 o’clock shadow all day because I did not apply highlighter along my jaw.
