There is no doubt in my mind, that in a few months time this list will probably evolve and change because that is what happens. New brands are born, new products are created and there will definitely be some sort of new skincare product that I need in my life.
I cannot count how many different products that I have tried and tested but these seem to be the products that I sing about the most and panicky replace when it is nearly empty. The worst moment is when your favourite face cream has been out of stock for weeks or even months, and you have to ration it on a daily basis or even substitute it with a back up face cream which is good, but not as good. We have all been there surely?
Speaking of face creams lets get the ball rolling on the 10 beauty products I cannot live without.
BEST SKINCARE PRODUCTS.
In my opinion for my skin type and my skin goals – is that a thing? – I think I have found the best products for me. My skin type is combination, a mixture of oily and dehydrated, so I need products that help even out oil production to restore the moisture in the areas that are dry.
MAC Mineralize Charged Water Gel – This is my go-to morning moisturiser, it is so light on the skin and it is a gel-like cream that absorbs instantly in the skin. So it is perfect for when you are in the rush and need to skip a 20-step morning skincare routine – honestly, who has the time? It is instantly hydrating, soothes and softens the skin and it gives my skin a beautiful glow. This is the face cream that was out of stock for a while, so when it came back in to store I selfishly grabbed 3 of them – just in case.
Bobbi Brown Skin Nourish – This moisturising mask is insane, I have wrote about this before probably several times, but I am in love. This is such a beautiful mask that you only need to put on for a couple of minutes and it hydrates the skin. It contains Coral Grass which I believe is an extract from seaweed and it acts as a natural collagen, leaving your skin feeling plump. I put it on whilst I am brushing my teeth and then I rinse it off with warm water and a cotton face cloth. Beautiful.
MAC Prep + Prime Fix+- Now, some of you might be thinking that this is just a setting spray for your makeup but it is so much more than that. It hydrates the skin, soothes and refreshes it too. It is a great product to apply before your makeup, as well as after, so you need this in your life. My personal favourite is the Rose scented one, but the original one is beautiful too as it is cucumber scented, so it is really fresh. If you don’t like the sounds of either of those, then there is lavender or coconut to choose from. Or if you need a glow there is a Goldlite and Pinklite version, which does all of the above, but it gives your skin a gold or pink glow, perfect if you love to highlight. If you want to avoid glowy skin and prefer a matte finish, then do not worry. They have thought of that too. A setting spray that makes your skin look beautifully matte. I actually own 4 different versions, which sounds a little excessive, but a girl has got to have options. Doesn’t she?
GlamGlow Flashmud– This mud from Glam Glow is designed to brighten your skin because it is rich in vitamin c. It contains salicylic acid, which helps with acne and breakouts because it dissolves the type of skin debris that clogs pores. As I am writing this, I realise that I need to put this on tonight as my skin has had a bad breakout this week. Apparently it also contains real diamonds, and we all know that diamonds are a girls best friend.
BEST MAKEUP PRODUCTS.
MAC Lip Pencil– I have a whole glass jar filled with lip pencils and lately I have been reaching for the shade “Boldly Bare” a lot more than any other shade. I find that it just really suits my natural lip colour and it goes perfectly with my current favourite lipgloss…
Fenty Glow Gloss Bomb– This little lipgloss doesn’t half pack a punch. If you haven’t tried it for yourself yet, then you need to. I think I own about 30 different lipglosses and I am contemplating throwing them all out because this is the “one”. The doe foot applicator is huge, but applies the product so smoothly and just looks, feels and even tastes incredible. Is that a weird thing to say? When I bought this mini lipgloss it came in a wee set along with a mini highlighter because I wanted to try it out on a smaller scale before investing in proper sized one. When this lipgloss tube runs out I will be ordering about 20 more. It is amazing.
Bobbi Brown Lip Colour– Obviously, I am a sucker for a good lipstick and at the moment I have given myself a little ban on buying any more because the last time I counted I had 102 lipsticks… 102! Disgusting. But, like I said earlier, at least I have choice now. Bobbi Brown lipsticks have amazing pigmentation and are beautiful. I own about 6 different shades and “Party Alice” will always be one of my favourites as it was the shade that I wore on my wedding day. How cute.
Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzer– This is a beautifully soft pressed powder that gives an amazing sun-kissed glow to your skin. This particular shade is “Antigua” and I love to wear it on days when I don’t want to wear too much makeup. I just want a nice bit of colour on my cheeks. I think I use this more like a blush, rather than a bronzer. But when I do wear this, I don’t add anything else to the skin because it gives an amazing pinch of colour to your face. It comes in a few other shades, and I am tempted to invest in a couple other shades to test them out - perhaps more of a bronzed tone, rather than a peachy pink.
A FEW LITTLE EXTRAS...
Essie Nail Polish– I have tried multiple nail polish brands, hunting down the perfect polish that is the blackest black and the whitest white and I finally found it in Essie. The pigmentation in the white polish is fantastic; one coat of this polish is all you need, whereas other brands haven’t quite got this consistency right yet. Often you would need more than two coats to even out the colour, and no one has time to wait for that to dry. The white shade from Essie is “Blanc” and the black shade is “Licorice”, the most perfect black polish you will ever see. The chip resistance is also incredible, after about 4 or 5 days of wear I can see that I need to fix it up a little, but only just a little.
GUCCI Bloom Perfume– Okay, this is a new addition to my perfume collection but oh my lord. The packaging alone makes me so happy and makes my beauty station look beautiful, the scent is a mix of spicy yet floral – I don’t know how to describe it. I can smell bergamot and a little lemon, mixed with musk and sandalwood but there is definitely honeysuckle lurking in there too. Love honeysuckle so much, it is one scent that makes me insanely happy. I just adore it.
When it comes to beauty, it is all personal preference. If you have found the perfect products for you, then I want to know what you are using, what you love and even what you hate because I love talking about beauty until the cows come home.
