In a previous post I banged on about how much I love Autumn...
With the seasons beginning to change, my beauty regime also starts to change. For Spring/Summer I keep my make up light, but for Autumn/Winter I do get a bit heavier with my make up. I tend to choose darker shades of lipstick and my eye make up gets richer. However, today was different. Influenced by 1960s beauty, I created a new make up look for myself and I was delighted with it.
I blended tones of brown and purple in to the crease of my eyelid and really exaggerated the wings of my black eyeliner. I felt that a dark shade of lipstick would be too intense for this look so I lightly dabbed a bright light pink on to my lips. I did use a highlighting cream for my nose, under aye and chin and I used a bronzer to create a slight contour. The lighting for this photograph does look a little strange, but I love it. Very dramatic. Just like the make up.
Creating new make up looks does make me slightly nervous because eI am always comfortable with what I know. But lately I have been more confident with myself, so I am being a bit more adventurous with my style and make up.
Oh, and speaking of 60s influence - Hairspray the musical is back on tour and I cannot wait to see it. I do love a musical. Especially one that promotes body confidence in young women. You should see if they are touring in a town near you - click here for more details.
